Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) GranteeCounty of Riverside (California)

Image of Grantee title

In FY2023, SAKI awarded the County of Riverside $1.5 million to effectively prioritize cases with suspect DNA, submit DNA for timely analysis, and investigate and prosecute the resulting cases. The County of Riverside will increase its team's investigative capacity by bringing new forensic techniques to the forefront (e.g., forensic genetic genealogy) and allowing them to partner with certified private labs for DNA testing. Additionally, the county will pursue new leads based on information acquired through SAKI-funded DNA analysis, and work expediently to identify, arrest, and prosecute serial offenders.
